Tasks of the partnership
The "Hydrogen Strategy for Austria" provides for the establishment of a hydrogen platform as one of many fields of action. With the launch of the joint national hydrogen platform "Hydrogen Partnership Austria" (HyPA), the Ministry of Climate Protection (BMK) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs (BMAW) are realising this field of action with the participation of the province of Tyrol.
1) Create evidence
Green hydrogen is not only an essential building block for achieving climate neutrality. Innovations and the further development of technologies offer great opportunities for the research and technology centre. In the current dynamic and in view of the time pressure, however, it is important to maintain an overview and set a technically sound course. HyPA contributes expertise in the form of fact sheets and policy papers, for example, in order to provide the best possible support for the ramp-up of the hydrogen economy - from production in Austria, transport, storage and imports to the sensible use of hydrogen or its derivatives.

2) Enable exchange
Regular dialogue between relevant stakeholders is essential for the implementation and further development of the hydrogen strategy and the legal framework. HyPA pools the perspectives, competencies and activities of research, industry, the energy sector and civil society in a dialogue process and ensures that their positions are productively incorporated into the design of regulations and funding mechanisms.
3) Communicate and categorise
The experts at Hydrogen Partnership Austria provide facts about hydrogen and help to categorise them. The connection to the big picture is particularly important: The sensible embedding of hydrogen in the energy system of the future, its contribution to achieving climate neutrality and a look beyond the current hype. HyPA communicates primarily via this website and webinars on current developments, but is also happy to offer its experts as interview partners or speakers at events.
